La Soupe au Lait
The story...
The original name, “la soupe au lait,” literally translates to “milk soup” and is the ancestor of fondue. First served in Switzerland, it was a bowl of thick, creamy milk where shepherds dipped their bread after long days in the pastures. Over time, this Alpine specialty became a symbol of mountain cuisine, celebrated for its warmth and conviviality—a perfect dish to share among loved ones.
